MedSafe aims to provide medically excellent care (remotely) through its MedSafe Platform and patient-involved services, using interactive technologies where patients, their caregivers and other stakeholders can work together to deliver individually tailored care.
What personal data do we collect?
We ask you to share certain personal data with us in order to provide you with access to the MedSafe Platform, create a Personal MedSafe Health Environment for you, and provide you with the products and services you request from us. This is the case, for example, when you create an Account on our MedSafe Platform, when you log in, when you start entering data and information into your Personal MedSafe Health Environment, when you communicate with our Partners in your Personal MedSafe Health Environment, and when you make purchases in the web shop.

Why and how do we use (process) your personal data?
MedSafe uses the personal data we collect from you as follows:
- To provide the functions of the MedSafe Platform, your Personal MedSafe Health Environment and the services you request:When you want to use the MedSafe Platform, your Personal MedSafe Health Environment and the services provided by MedSafe, we ask you to create a personal account. We also store this data so that you can easily log in each time. We will display these details in your Personal MedSafe Health Environment so that you can edit these details yourself.
- We also use your e-mail address for support. For example, when you want to create a new password we will send you this by email.When you make purchases in the webshop and when you use paid services from MedSafe and our Partners we also need your address and name to be able to send you the materials for conducting the study.To give you insight into your progress and results
- We collect your (fitness) activities and your physical characteristics and health data such as readings, progress and keep track of what exercises you do, where you left off when you stop exercising early, what exercise programs and questionnaires you use. We store your progress and results and display them in your Personal MedSafe Health Environment so you can see how you are doing in your health and if you are making progress. By using your Personal MedSafe Health Environment, you can earn points.
- We collect your results to track your points for you. Getting you into the MedSafe program
- To create a basic health report we need your e-mail address, date of birth, zip code, house number and gender. With your email address you will create a personal, secure account, and with your date of birth and gender, MedSafe's questions will be tailored to your situation.
- You complete your personal MedSafe account with questions about your health, family, lifestyle and measurements. This data remains stored within your personal account so that you do not have to complete all the questions again the next time you participate and you can compare your health report from previous participations.
Scientific research
Your data related to the use of your Personal MedSafe Health Environment may be used for scientific research or for analyzing and improving our products. However, this data is always anonymized and does not contain any personal information. Thus, they cannot be traced back to you as a person. In this way, your privacy remains guaranteed. On the registration screen you can, by placing a check mark, choose whether you agree to this condition. You may also be actively approached to participate in scientific research. In that case, you will always be asked to give permission to participate first. You can think of giving permission for an interview or for completing a questionnaire.
If you give permission to participate, you can always change your mind and withdraw this permission. Your research data will be kept confidential and outsiders will not have access to it without permission. The results of the study may be used for a scientific publication, but they will never be traceable to you as a person.
Improvements to the MedSafe concept and general research and analytical purposes
MedSafe continuously evaluates the MedSafe concept so that its quality and effectiveness are constantly improved. We use data about how our users use our services to better understand customer behavior and preferences. If you have agreed that MedSafe may share your data with your doctor during registration, MedSafe may also share your data with your doctor. We can only share your data if we know the details of your doctor.

Service desk handling questions and complaints
If you have any questions or comments about MedSafe you can contact the Service Desk. The Service Desk can be reached by telephone and e-mail. To help you further, the Service Desk will only see your e-mail address, date of birth, gender and in case of additional modules also the name, address and purchased modules. Notes about your question are kept. If you call again, we can use these to help you quickly.
Information Security
MedSafe is certified to NEN-7510 for information security in healthcare and also ISO27001. These standards represent information security in healthcare and are designed to ensure the availability, integrity and confidentiality of all information required to provide responsible care to patients:
- Availability - information and services are there when they are needed.
- Confidentiality - information and services are accessible only to authorized individuals.
- Integrity - information is accurate and complete and services function correctly.
- MedSafe uses a secure (SSL) SHA-256 connection with RSA encryption to securely exchange encrypted data.
Your personal data is at all times stored in physically separate and secure places. Only when the user himself/herself logs into his/her Account with his/her personal username, this data is merged via a secure connection. In this way, the user is the only one who has access to his/her health data.
MedSafe secures every web page it controls that collects personal information, but cannot guarantee the confidentiality of personal data transmitted over the Internet. We encourage you to exercise caution when transmitting personal information over the Internet, especially personal information related to your health. MedSafe cannot guarantee that unauthorized third parties will not gain access to your personal information. You should therefore weigh both the benefits and risks in providing personal information over the Internet.
Data Transfer
The personal data we collect or generate (process) in the context of our MedSafe Platform and services is stored on secure servers located in countries within the European Economic Area.
Retention of your personal data
We will retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which we collect it, except where otherwise required by law.
Your rights regarding your personal data
You have the right to request: (i) access your personal data; (ii) correct your personal data if it is incomplete or inaccurate; or (iii) erase your personal data. Removal of account
You can have your personal data deleted after your participation. However, the then anonymized health data will remain available for the study. If you request us to delete your data, MedSafe can no longer perform its services for you.
Partner Services.
Our MedSafe Platform and your Personal MedSafe Health Environment allow you to interact with a wide range of other digital products and services. For example, our MedSafe Platform may integrate with Partners' activity trackers and other Partners' digital services.
If you choose to connect your Account and your Personal MedSafe Health Environment with a Partner's service, your privacy rights will be governed by their respective Privacy Policies.
Our MedSafe Platform may contain links to other websites and apps (from Partners) for your convenience or information. Linked sites and apps have their own privacy statements and policies, and we strongly encourage you to read them.
